SONGS OF LEICESTERSHIRE
Songs about the County of Leicestershire are in somewhat short supply
and in an attempt to remedy this Brian Langtry has released this
collection of new, self penned, songs. The songs are in the
folksy/country style and cover a large variety of topics related to the
people and places of the County. There are 14 songs on the CD and
Brian`s playing and singing is augmented by several guest singers and
musicians. For these contributions Brian is greatly indebted.
Enjoy.
The CD is priced at £6 + £1 p&p from Legless Productions Ltd.  Call on

THE DIRTY THIRTY
This film, by Brian Langtry and Len Holden, is the compelling story of
the only Leicestershire miners to reject the call of their Union, the UDM,
to stay in work during the bitter nationwide  miners strike of  1984. The   name   “Dirty   Thirty”   was   given   to   them   by   former   colleagues   who   saw   their   rejection of   the   UDM   stance   as   an   act   of   betrayal.   The   30   braved   isolation, stigmatisation, verbal and physical abuse whilst they remained on strike for the duration of the dispute.

Adapted   from   Brian   Langtry`s   one   act   play   and   produced   by   Legless   Productions   in association with H and L Productions and the Bickling Brothers. “A     Rainy     Day     in     Cromer”     tells     the     story     of     Bernard,     an     ex-public     authority accountant, who   in   the   last   months   of   his   life,   purchases   a   caravan   in   the   Norfolk   resort of   Cromer   with   the   aim   of   seeking   some   resolution   to   the   emotions   and   memories   from the   single   most   treasured, yet   brief,   interlude   of   a   once   in   a   lifetime   love   affair   which barely    lasted    three    months    and    ended    over    twenty    years    ago.    The    film    tells    the humerous, dark, poignant   and   uplifting   story   of   how   Bernard   strives   to   achieve   this   end whilst   leaving   behind   a   legacy   the   like   of   which   he   feels   was   largely   pointless   and,   at best,   mundane.   The   film   lasts   for   just   over   an   hour.   It   was   previewed   in   the   Ashby   De La Zouch film Festival of 2012. Cromer can be purchased as a CD for £10. Contact Brian Langtry:                                     brianlangtry23@gmail.com
